Do you know someone whose personal generosity has made a difference in your
community? A citizen who understands the importance of the 'greater good'
and acts on it? If so, we'd like to hear their story.
Claire hopes to bring more attention to generous Americans through her writing
and speaking, and she would love to hear from you.
Here are a few tips to guide you…
Your story can be about a person or a group, about someone who gave large
amounts of money or small amounts. It can be a story from the past, or
from today. Claire is particularly interested in generosity that has made
a difference in the lives of many diverse people in a community, generosity
that has had a lasting effect. And, of course, the more unusual or
dramatic, the better. That's what makes a good story!
Remember a good story usually involves a challenge or a struggle against the
odds. There are often failures or disappointments along the way that must
be overcome, sometimes with brilliant ideas, sometimes with great efforts, and
sometimes with sheer perseverance.
You may submit your story in this
form.
Please limit your story to no more than 200 hundred words or so, and
include some information about the 'community' where the generous acts
took place. We will acknowledge receipt of your story and try to publish
as many of them as possible on the website. If we plan to use your story
on the site, we will contact you directly via email. And thanks in
advance for helping to identify generous Americans.
